Welcome!
The Librarian Substitutes 2.0 wiki is a place for substitute librarians to network, pool our knowledge, and develop professionally. We envision this site as "One Stop Shopping" for the Library Sub, with links to key resources in many kinds of librarianship.
Library Substitutes need to keep current in many areas. One day we may sub as a children's librarian and conduct a storytime, answer questions about early literacy, and recommend a new book to a 4th grade voracious reader. The next day we may answer dozens of questions about homework sources and do Reader's Advisory for teens -- and then not use those skills for another six weeks. On another day, we may work in a special department and need expertise in investments, government documents, art, music, literature, history or government. We need to keep current on Library 2.0 skills, and there are topics unique to librarian substitutes, such as what to do when you sub at a library for the first time.
